Apollo Piano Tuning

The Apollo Piano, originally manufactured by the Apollo Piano Company of DeKalb, Illinois, has a unique place in piano history. Established in the late 19th century, the Apollo brand was known for its innovation and quality craftsmanship. One of its most notable contributions was the introduction of the player piano, which gained immense popularity in the early 20th century. These player pianos, capable of reproducing music automatically, were a technological marvel of their time and significantly influenced the piano market. Apollo pianos, both the traditional and player varieties, were praised for their robust construction, reliable action, and rich tonal quality. While the original company is no longer in operation, Apollo pianos that still exist today are valued by collectors and enthusiasts for their historical significance and the glimpse they offer into early piano innovation. Maintaining these pianos, including tuning and repairs, often requires the expertise of technicians familiar with historical instruments to preserve their unique characteristics and sound. The Apollo Piano, with its rich legacy, continues to be a symbol of early American piano craftsmanship and technological advancement.
